About Odujej
The name Odujej comes from Jeju-do (Jeju Island), South Korea's largest island. The island was formed by the eruption of an underwater volcano. Due to this typical environment they have their own special culture. The brand focuses on the transmission of Jeju's culture in a modern way.
Symbolism of Mudle
Across Jeju Island, you'll encounter "Mudle" everywhere you look. Mudle is a Jeju dialect word meaning stone pile, a pile of stones from the field. The stone culture of Jeju seems to have developed through agricultural life, which required farmers to even out the bumpy fields caused by stones. There are mudles stacked everywhere despite them serving no purpose.
The Mudle carries deep cultural significance:
Rough Texture: The rugged surface of these stones represents how the people of Jeju have faced and challenged obstacles and trials throughout their history.
Stacking Method: The way stones are carefully placed upon one another symbolizes how the islanders have relied on themselves and helped each other to overcome difficulties.
